Gallery: pool walls, liners and wood pools around Detroit

Above-ground steel-panel pools with aluminum railing decks, wood pools with braced walls, and rectangular pools in fresh blue liners. This is the kind of work the family has done in Detroit and the surrounding areas since 1973.

Liners, walls and wood frames: the three jobs behind these pools

Liners

A new liner goes into a pool that has been drained and prepared, then the pool is filled. The photos show patterned and plain blue liners in rectangular pools, empty and mid-fill. A liner that fades, wrinkles or tears does not mend itself, which is why replacing it early is the affordable route.

How it goes

Walls

Above-ground pool walls stand outdoors in every season. The steel-panel pools with white aluminum railing decks are the kind of wall we replace with our own half-inch aluminum-faced panels, a design we have been making since 1973.

How it goes

Wood frames

Wood pools hold their water behind braced framing, with a railing along the top. Kayak, Hendon, Olympic, Wilkes and rectangular wood pools all need that structure sound, and older ones can be restored rather than replaced.
