Cloudy water, a loud pump, a heater that will not fire
The equipment pad does the unglamorous work of keeping a pool swimmable, and when it starts to fail the signs are easy to recognize. Water that stays cloudy no matter how much you add. A filter that clogs again a week after it was cleaned. A pump that hums, rattles or loses its prime. A heater that clicks and does nothing.
Plumbing is the other half. A wet patch near the pad, a fitting that drips, a line that loses water overnight: leaks rarely get better by themselves, and a small one that is ignored can undermine the ground the pad and the pool wall stand on.
